Spring has Sprung! (I hope!)

In attempt to scare the snow off and hope that it will not appear again this year, I have put out my spring and summer decorations through out the house-inside and out! This week is suppose to be close to 50 degrees, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the temperature will continue to rise and chase the snow away for good!

Belly Laughs

Isabella gave a huge belly laugh a couple times this morning! I was grabbing her tummy and giving her little shakes and she was cracking up! It's hard to believe how fast she is growing! She is also trying to pull herself up into a sitting position while she is reclining in her swing or bouncy chair!

Soap and Flames

Today is Day 1 of our adventure without Justin while he is away in Kenya. He is on the plane as I type for the next 8 hours to arrive in Amsterdam around 2 am or so, then will be on another 8 hour flight to Kenya. I have really had a hard time with this trip-mainly because I am not a part of it. I love to travel, especially with Justin and have never been to Africa, so it' been really hard for me to sit back and watch everyone prepare to leave for what I know will be an amazing adventure!

Life is crazy here on a daily basis, but it always seems when he is away, it gets even more hectic and crazy. My day started out with Pressley waking up and groggily telling me she was soapy. I ignored it, thinking she was just dreaming, and she went back to sleep for a bit longer. When she awoke for real, she told me she needed to change her clothes because she was wet. Eventually I realized she had peed the bed and we proceeded to clean everything up. If you don't have bunk beds, stripping them and re-making them is in itself a big ordeal. I love the idea of bunk beds, but practically speaking they are a pain in the behind when it comes to making the beds from scratch...especially on my own. It's quite a sight I'm sure watching me struggle to lift the mattress and tuck the sheets at the same time!

This evening, my sister, Jeremy and Tessa made it to visit us and after dinner, my kitchen was hazy and the house smelled like smoke. We thought it might be the oven, then my heaters getting hot, but after crawling around on our hands and knees sniffing, searching the attic and taking a walk outside, we found nothing. Getting a bit panicky, I was thankful that they were here to help me figure out where the burning smell was coming from. Finally, after opening the dishwasher, I realized something had fallen in and melted, so no fire...thank goodness! The house is still standing (so far!), the "slap chop" cap, though, is not.

A Video for Aunt Beebye!

A fun little song I taught the girls from when I was little...it's from a show called Sharon, Lois and Bram's Elephant Show. My sister and I used to watch it a lot! That's why this goes out to her!

Pig Party for Dr. Seuss' Birthday!

Pressley snorting as she shows her pig!

Yesterday was National Pig Day, but we spent the day at the Trier's, so we were unable to celebrate. We decided to celebrate today. This morning we made our very own pigs with button noses and googly eyes, we ate pigs in a blanket for lunch and this evening we are going to paint our piggy toes! We also made cat in the hat hats with Dr. Seuss stickers all over them and hung them in the girls' room. They had so much fun! Above are some pictures of our morning!

Too Much Snow!

We have had quite a February! Close to 30 inches of snow has fallen on us over the last few weeks. I must admit, at the beginning of it, almost 3 weeks ago, it was so fun, but now it is getting a bit old and I am very anxious for spring to arrive! The girls have had a blast playing in it, though! Above are a few pictures from our February adventure!

Valentine's Day Surprise

The girls and I decided on Valentine's Day to throw a surprise dinner for Justin. They were so excited about it! (I was too!) So, we made him a heart shaped invitation requiring him to wear a tie and they helped me make some pink pancakes...that were suppose to be heart shaped, but that plan failed miserably, along with some pink eggs and milk in wine glasses. The girls (including Bella) and I got dressed up and set the table with confetti, streamers, candles and flowers. We bought Justin a picture frame with a picture of all the girls for his desk at work along with his very own Ken doll! Malia thought that he needed a boy doll to play with when we play Barbies. It was such a fun night!
