Responsibility

A couple weeks ago at MOPS we talked about fostering independence in your children. I started thinking of things I could have Malia do, now that she's almost 5 that would give her independence and the feeling of some responsibility. She is already a very big help around the house for me...getting me diapers for Isabella, taking things to the trash, feeding Lily, so I thought it was about time to teach her how to make her bed. She has done fantastic with it. She almost always makes her bed every morning. Even after she is done napping she re-makes the bed. I'm so proud of her! Here are a few pictures of her bed making skills!

Getting Big!

My little Isabella is growing WAY to fast! She rolled over today! It's so crazy! She was just laying on the floor going around in circles and the next thing I know, she's on her tummy! Her 4 month appointment was Friday and she weighs 15.1 pounds and is 25 3/4 inches long...she's in the 75th%!!

Spring Fever!

Ahhh! It is spring!! We'll, atleast it is teasing us to believe it is spring! I think the Lord knew I would handle this week much better not only being at the Trier's house, but with the help of sunshine and warm weather! It has been in the 50's almost all week, today almost 60! And rumor has it, Friday we will see the upper 60's! The girls and I were able to get outside for a short period of time today. I took them on the front porch to have a "picnic" lunch on the front steps. It was so nice and warm and Malia danced around the steps barefoot wearing her Dorothy dress and PJ pants. We sat outside for quite sometime practicing our word families and eating PB & J's, Cheetos, Barbie fruit snacks and PB cookies. They really enjoyed the time outside. We've had a great week while Justin has been gone, though we are anxious to have him back. I've been able to talk to him everyday since he landed in Kenya, and they are having an amazing time! It's been nice to be in the loop of the trip too. He's been able to post tons of pictures as well as blog, so it's been great to keep up with him! The girls have been very well behaved since we've been here, and Isabella, though she has not been sleeping well since he left, finally slept much better last night, so hopefully it will continue! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have seen the last of the snow! I am super anxious to be able to get the girls outside and play again and they are anxious to blow bubbles and play with their sidewalk chalk!

Spring has Sprung! (I hope!)

In attempt to scare the snow off and hope that it will not appear again this year, I have put out my spring and summer decorations through out the house-inside and out! This week is suppose to be close to 50 degrees, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the temperature will continue to rise and chase the snow away for good!
